Privacy Policy

The Short Version

Your tasks stay on your device. Unsorted does not require an account, does not show ads, and does not sell data to anyone. The App sends a small amount of anonymous product-usage analytics so we can see which features get used and fix what breaks — never your task titles or notes. That is the whole list.

Your Tasks Stay on Your Device

Unsorted stores the following locally on your iPhone or iPad using Apple's Core Data framework:

• Your tasks, their titles, and any notes you add
• Task categories (Work, School, Personal, Finance, Home) and any custom names, colors, or icons
• Priority, size, position, and other visual properties
• Timestamps for when tasks were created, modified, or completed
• Reminder schedules and time-block settings
• App preferences and settings

The App and its home-screen widget share this data through an app container on the same device. Version 2.1.0 does not upload task content to our servers and does not provide multi-device sync. Each device keeps its own task database.

Your task data is included in your device backups (iCloud Backup or a local computer backup) if you have them enabled. Those backups are controlled by you and the backup provider, not by Unsorted. If you delete the App without a backup, your tasks are permanently gone.

Anonymous Analytics

Unsorted uses TelemetryDeck, a privacy-focused analytics service, to collect anonymous product-interaction data. We use it to understand which features people use, diagnose problems, and decide what to improve.

Analytics events may include:

• Onboarding progress and completion
• Screens viewed and feature or setting interactions
• Task counts (how many active and completed tasks you have)
• The category and priority selected when a task is created
• How long a task took to complete and whether it was completed from the App, the widget, or a notification
• Purchase-flow events (paywall shown, dismissed, purchase completed)
• Basic device and app information such as device model, iOS version, App version, and language

Analytics do not include your task titles, notes, name, email address, contacts, precise location, or any content you write in the App. TelemetryDeck receives an anonymized, hashed identifier that Unsorted cannot link back to you. We do not use analytics to track you across other companies' apps or websites, and we do not sell analytics data.

What We Don't Collect

• Your name, email address, phone number, or any personal identifiers
• Your task titles, notes, or any content you write
• Location data
• Contacts, photos, or other data from your device
• Advertising identifiers or cross-app tracking data

Unsorted contains no advertisements, no advertising networks, and no data brokers.

Purchases

Unsorted Pro is a one-time in-app purchase ($14.99 USD) processed entirely by Apple through the App Store. We never see your payment details. Apple's handling of your purchase is governed by Apple's Privacy Policy. Our business model is the app purchase, not your data.

Notifications and Calendar Access

If you enable reminders, Unsorted asks for permission to send local notifications. These are scheduled on your device; no notification content is sent to our servers.

If you use the Pro calendar time-blocking feature, Unsorted asks for calendar access and creates a calendar event containing the task title, date, time, duration, and an alert. From that point the event is handled by the calendar accounts configured on your device (for example iCloud or Google Calendar) and may sync under those providers' terms and privacy policies. Declining calendar access does not affect the rest of the App.

You can change either permission at any time in iOS Settings.

Your Control Over Your Data

• Access: Your tasks are always on your device and visible in the App
• Deletion: Delete the App to remove all task data from your device
• Backup and restore: Handled by your iOS device backups
• Export: Unsorted does not currently offer an export feature
• Analytics: The anonymous analytics described above cannot be linked to you, so there is no per-person record for us to retrieve or delete. If you have questions, contact us and we will help

Children's Privacy

Unsorted is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13. Analytics are anonymous and contain no personal information regardless of the user's age. The App is rated 4+ on the App Store; users under 13 should have parental permission before using it, as required by Apple's App Store guidelines.

Data Security

• Task data on your device is encrypted at rest by iOS Data Protection and guarded by your passcode, Face ID, or Touch ID
• Task data is sandboxed — other apps cannot read Unsorted's data
• Analytics are transmitted over encrypted connections (HTTPS)

Because we do not store your task content on our servers, a breach on our side cannot expose your tasks.

Your Privacy Rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights under laws such as GDPR (Europe) or CCPA (California). Because your task data stays on your device and our analytics are anonymous, most of these rights are satisfied by design:

• Right to Access and Portability: Your data is on your device and goes where you go
• Right to Deletion: Delete the App to remove your task data
• Right to Opt-Out of Sale: We do not sell any data

If you believe we hold personal information about you, or you have any privacy request, email us and we will respond.

International Data Transfers

Your task content is not transferred anywhere by Unsorted. Anonymous analytics are processed by TelemetryDeck, which is based in Germany and hosts its infrastructure in the European Union.

Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy to reflect changes in the App or legal requirements — for example, if a future version adds optional multi-device sync. If we make significant changes, we will note them in the App Store update notes. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page indicates when the policy was last revised.
