Our Privacy Philosophy

Your privacy is not a feature—it's a fundamental right. Unsorted is built on a simple principle: we never see your data. Everything you create in Unsorted stays exclusively on your device using Core Data. We don't collect it, we don't analyze it, and we certainly don't sell it.

What Data We Collect

None. Zero. Nothing.

Unsorted does not collect any personal information from you. We don't know who you are, what your email is, or what tasks you're managing.

Data Stored Locally on Your Device

The following data is stored exclusively on your iPhone using Apple's Core Data framework (not on our servers, not in the cloud):

• Your tasks and their content
• Task categories (School, Work, Personal, Finance, Home)
• Task colors and visual properties
• Timestamps for when tasks were created or modified
• App preferences and settings

Important: This data lives only on your device. It never leaves your iPhone. We never have access to it, and it's not transmitted to any servers—ours or anyone else's. Your data is protected by your device's security (Face ID, Touch ID, passcode).

What We Don't Collect

To be absolutely clear, Unsorted does NOT collect:

• ❌ Your name, email address, or any personal identifiers
• ❌ Analytics or usage data
• ❌ Device information or identifiers
• ❌ Location data
• ❌ Crash reports or diagnostics (unless you explicitly send them via Apple's system)
• ❌ Cookies, tracking pixels, or any web tracking technologies
• ❌ Behavioral data or usage patterns
• ❌ IP addresses or network information

There are no third-party analytics services, no advertising networks, and no data brokers involved with Unsorted.

How Local Storage Works

Unsorted uses Apple's Core Data framework to store your data locally on your device. Here's what that means:

• Your data is stored only on your iPhone—nowhere else
• Only you can access your data on your device
• We have zero visibility into what you store in the app
• Your data is protected by iOS security and your device passcode/biometrics
• Your data is included in your device backups (iCloud Backup or iTunes Backup)
• If you delete the app, all your data is permanently deleted from your device

Note on Backups: If you use iCloud Backup or iTunes Backup, your Unsorted data will be included in those backups as part of your device's backup. This is handled by iOS automatically and is governed by Apple's backup policies, not by Unsorted.

Data Sharing and Third Parties

We don't share your data with anyone because we don't have access to it.

Unsorted does not:

• Sell your data to third parties
• Share your data with advertisers
• Use your data for marketing purposes
• Provide your data to analytics companies
• Share your data with anyone, ever, for any reason

There are no third parties involved with Unsorted. Your data stays on your device, period.

Advertising and Tracking

Unsorted contains:

• ❌ No advertisements
• ❌ No tracking technologies
• ❌ No behavioral profiling
• ❌ No data monetization of any kind

Our business model is simple: you pay once ($14.99) to unlock unlimited tasks. That's it. We make money from the app purchase, not from your data.

Your Control Over Your Data

You have complete control over your data:

• Access: Your data is always on your device and accessible through the app
• Deletion: Delete the app to permanently remove all data from your device
• Backup: Your data is automatically included in your iOS device backups (iCloud or iTunes)
• Restore: If you restore your device from a backup, your Unsorted data will be restored too
• Export: Unsorted doesn't currently have an export feature, but your data remains on your device

Important: Since your data is stored locally on your device, if you delete the app without backing up your device first, your data will be permanently lost.

Children's Privacy

Unsorted does not knowingly collect any data from children under 13 years of age. In fact, Unsorted doesn't collect data from anyone, regardless of age.

The app is rated 4+ on the App Store and is appropriate for all ages. However, users under 13 should have parental permission before using the app, as required by Apple's App Store guidelines.

Data Security

Since your data is stored locally on your device using Core Data, it benefits from iOS's built-in security measures:

• Data is encrypted at rest using iOS Data Protection
• Access is protected by your device passcode, Face ID, or Touch ID
• Data is sandboxed—other apps cannot access Unsorted's data
• No network transmission of your task data (because it never leaves your device)

We never store your data on our servers, so there's no risk of a data breach from our side. The only way your data could be compromised is if someone gains physical access to your unlocked device.

Your Privacy Rights

Depending on your location, you may have certain privacy rights under laws like GDPR (Europe), CCPA (California), or other privacy regulations. However, since we don't collect any personal data, most of these rights are automatically satisfied:

• Right to Access: Your data is on your device—you always have access through the app
• Right to Deletion: Delete the app to remove all data from your device
• Right to Portability: Your data stays on your device and goes where you go
• Right to Opt-Out: There's nothing to opt out of—we don't collect anything

International Data Transfers

Since we don't collect or store any data on our servers, there are no international data transfers to speak of. Your data stays on your device, wherever you are in the world.

Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in the app or legal requirements. If we make significant changes, we'll notify you through the App Store update notes.

The "Last updated" date at the top of this page indicates when the policy was last revised.
